Diesel Gas Townsville combines more than 45 years of industry experience.

As an authorised certifier for vehicle modifications under the National Codes of Practice, we offer a full repair facility for vintage, veteran and classic vehicles.

Your 'pride and joy' will be in the best hands at our workshop. Don't worry, our care is given generously.

The origins of our business go back to 1977 with our work at Fosters Ace Auto Repairs, an auto-mechanical business now operated by our son Shaun and his wife. So the ties that bind our businesses will work in your favour when you bring your vehicle to us.

The Queensland Variety Bash is a celebration of driving Queensland's worst roads, typically by some 200 Bash cars. A Bash car must be mechanically sound and at least 30 years old.

Speed is not important. It's neither a race or a rally. It's all about good times driving through parts of Australia you'd otherwise not see, at the same time, raising money for special needs children.

The annual Variety Bash, an idea from businessman and philanthropist Dick Smith in June 1985, is Australia's most successful charity motoring event, raising about $1.5 million every year for kids in need.

The first Queensland Bash was in 1989. This 9 or 10 day event kicks off around August each year. The finish line is generally set where another big event begins, such as the Birdsville Races or the Gympie Muster. That way, the party doesn't stop.

Our own Steve Foster enters the Variety Bash every year. Since 2007, we've relied on an EH Holden, affectionately known as The Old Girl. She has completed every Bash she has entered without a hitch.

Many say the EH is the best Holden ever made.

Founded in 1975, Variety Australia has delivered more than $160 million (to date) for kids in need. Variety Australia is supported by more than 5,000 volunteers.
